Well, looks like we have narrowed down the depot's date of demise, as I was at Rico in mid August 1953 and the depot was still standing then.
The scrapper's Geese were stored in a lot uptown.
There was about 8 to 10 miles of track still in place and I was told that the mine had purchased it to use as supports in their tunnels. At the foot of my desk is an 18" chunk of rail from the passing track right in front of the depot. NO, it is not for sale!
