Mechanically, Class 56s are Baldwin 10-24Es, compared to Class 60s being 10-26E 10-24 1/2 Es. 10-24Es generally were a lot more widespread throughout narrow gauge in the western US dating a bit further back and weren't unique to Colorado.

Daniel Gollery of NSRM and a fellow Studio346 Member made a wonderful model of the 10-24Es for Century of Steam. The below video is a compilation of all the different prototypes and cosmetic changes he's modeled, There are a handful of D&RG arrangements if you keep your eyes peeled.
