In response to Mr. Bell's E-mail:
The Georgetown Loop Railroad, Inc. met with the CHS in March to negotiate a contract offer we had presented to them. In response, the CHS handed over a two page ultimatum stating the terms and conditions the CHS was willing to abide by. We were told that these terms were absolutely non-negotiable and were their final offer. The CHS's final offer did not address our concerns regarding equipment maintenance expenses and our long-term objective of ensuring the railroad's continued success. The CHS was not interested in giving us a long-term contract and required an increased fee along with other demands. The CHS has stated that we had spent 9-months negotiating, when in fact we had only met 3-times to discuss contract terms over a period of 6-months. We had a preliminary meeting last summer prior to contract negotiations to discuss our continuing interest in operating the Loop.
