As the owner / chief moderator I'd like to make a couple of comments if I may.
First of all, it's "ristra" not "arristra", but that's beside the point. As South Park points out historically the people of New Mexico have strung together srtings of red chili peppers and hung them outside as a way to store them between harvest and consumption. Legend has it that they also bring good fortune. Ristras were (and are) a common sight along the ROW of the Antonito - Santa Fe branch, and since the term "ristra" is somewhat unusual and since a ristra is made of chilis the branch became known as the "chili line". That is also where "Chile John" gets the "Chile" portion of his name - he lives in Santa Fe.
Second, both Mike and I have other obligations (work, sleep, food, etc) and can't watch the board every single moment. Furthermore we are a relatively low traffic board, and watching things would be just plain boring. Therefore, most of the time there is relatively little activity in the form of moderation. When something seems to be getting out of hand, we can put someone in "time out" where they are not permitted to post without one of us clearing that post first.
Third, as moderator and owner I don't see where South Park has done anything even remotely wrong. Ajax, you on the other hand, have decided to launch a personal attack, one which has no bearing on the topic at hand. You do not contribute in any way to the discussion of the Chili Line, whereas South Park has. Therefore if anyone were to be in "time out", it would be you.
If you do not like what someone has to say then DON'T READ THEIR POSTS. Simple.
If you want to rebut me, please do so back channel. If you notice, I
do provide an e-mail address.
