That was only coach #26; I do not know when the change occurred.
While it got two side doors, I don't know if it received RPO facilities. [edit: see following post by Dan Robirds]

THE POSTAL BULLETIN, WASHINGTON, JULY 27, 1937
113728. From July 31,1937, service by the Sumpter
Valley Ry. Co. between Baker and Bates,
Oreg., 60.15 miles, is discontinued.
From information I have:
The passenger cars were retired from the passenger equipment account as of 8/1/1937 and transferred to the work equipment account keeping the same numbers.
The three cars sold to the Army were retired 7/29/43. Former coaches 25 & 26 were retired 6/30/47.
Oh, and in case if you wondered how Bates, Oregon received its mail after the discontinuance of the RPO service, it was replaced by a short extension of a "Star Route" (motor vehicle) that past or through Bates.
