I noted in Roger's Part 4 video that they are continuing to send the snow through the lower chute on the blower. I reviewed the manufacturer's page for a
SIMILAR machine that has specs and photos of the blower details.

The lower snow chute is very close to the impeller (mostly hidden behind the dual augers), which presumably means that a higher volume of snow can moved though the lower exit, compared to using the taller chute. Since the locations shown so far have no need to throw snow up
over a high snowbank, using the lower chute is more efficient.
