I was there all day on Tuesday participating in a NARCOA event of 3-foot speeders. The changes at EBT are staggering and dramatic! The condition of the excursion era track alone is worthy of note. EBT never had in its common carrier days or the original tourist era a modern ballast regulator and tamper. The difference these machines are making on track conditions is obvious. And more than the main line is getting rebuilt. All of the switches and yard tracks are being restored.
While we were there, trucks were arriving on and off all day with more ballast, ties and even a truck load of period correct spouting for the buildings was delivered.
