Y'know, if Railstar is really interested in moving into Colorado then they should probably look at trying to purchase the Cripple Creek & Victor R.R. as then they could use their 2' gauge equipment without much hassle! (Hey, it makes more sense than taking on an operation with a potentially hostile landowner and NO equipment of the correct gauge available!)
What concerns me even more is the fact that these three "finalists" don't seem to see any problem with destroying historical equipment in the vain attempt to have a steam engine running!
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this but the fact that the Ashby's, Mark Greska and all of the GLR employees that post here are concerned about the welfare of a historical piece of equipment that they don't even own is just one more indication that these people are the true "historical preservationists" as well as a class act!
It's been interesting to watch the CHS spokesman on TV whenever one of the reporters asks about this situation. It sure seems as if they are circling the wagons over there at the CHS! Even if it's shown that Behrens and his cronies duped the CHS into kicking the Ashbys out, I'm afraid that the CHS will march lock-step right over the cliff!!
