The original engine house was in Wiscasset, the new one is 5 miles north in Alna.

The main reason for the difference between the old and new is the orientation. The original engine house faced north with the run-by track and yard on the left side which had the run-through stall. The new engine house faces south with the run-by track and yard on the right side, next to the run-through stall. The new structure is a mirror image of the original so everything is flipped.
I hope this makes sense.
