The RGS used the D&RGW book of rules right up to the end, with modifications per the RGS employee time table.
If No. 7 were out on the main track a rear end marker would be required. A red flag would be sufficent per the rules during daylight. At night a red lantern would meet the requirement.
If No. 7 were running as a scheduled train train under timetable authority, no head end signals would be required.
If No. 7 were running as the first section (or other section except the last) under time table authority, the head end would carry green flags or lanterns to signal section(s) following.
If No. 7 were running as an extra, the head end would display white flags or lanterns.
The railroad would run under the TT&TO rules with no extra communication with the dispatcher needed.
Hope this helps,
Dave Adams
