That's a good bit of info there. Years ago when the project was starting out there was talk of it using diesel oil as fuel although I recollect they hadn't finalized on it yet and were open to other options (propane, etc). Looks like one of the other options won out? Any sort of replica or reproduction or model is always a trade-off between the needs of history vs the needs of modern operation and the resources of the owners to maintain upkeep on it. I think seeing the owners' solutions to practical issues is interesting in its own right. Same is true of original equipment that remains operable. "Eureka" has a hydrostatic lubricator and large air pump that it wasn't built with. Strip those items off and it becomes more original--but how often does it get used then? On the other side of it, Crowns take that sort of idea too far--they look misproportioned and deformed. I expect the #36 will do a lot better because if the owner would've settled for hackjob Crown he could've bought one.
