Looking at the photos from the 50's of totally mashed idler flats used in the pipe gon trains, I question the sanity of putting the flats where they did. Credit goes to the engineers that kept the slack 'just right' all the way to Cumbres.
It is also one of the strangest 'double headers' I've ever seen. If anything it was a train with a helper cut in, not a double header.
