Re: NCNG #5 test runs at NSRM

We had a busy and productive day Thursday running NCNG #5 at NSRM. We steamed up and NSRM provided us a pilot to guide us out across the turntable and then backing out to the tail track and then onto the museum track loop. We did around eight loops during the day and didn't have any real problems other than one of our injectors getting hot and not wanting to lift water. We were parked next to the Bowker for a while after the tender and engine were joined together. Some minor damage from a loading accident in Sac but nothing to shout about. The Glenbrook was pushed on the same siding as the Eureka's tender which sort of gave the Glenbrook an axillary tender look that I had never seen. The Eureka herself, was outside the back of the restoration shop getting some TLC spit shinning by her crew. We also saw the Genoa tender arrive and off loaded in the restoration shop. The engine itself was scheduled to arrive at 9 PM. I think Chris DeWitt is not getting much rest these days. John
