While it's hard to disagree with your first sentence, your second sentence ignores my earlier arrogant presumption that the FRONT of the Depot is the side that faces the tracks, and from that perspective – no matter where one (or two) may be standing to observe the depot – the other side of the depot is its BEHIND, so something on that side (even if it is on top of the hill above the alley in back of the depot) is behind the depot.
