No Fred, the 20 9600 series pipe gons used trucks from the 18 UTLX frameless tankcars that arrived in March 1947 and were put back onto standard gauge trucks in Oct. 1947. They were 4'8" cast trucks that the D&RGW purchased. They were different from the 4'6" trucks from the earlier frameless cars that came in 1937.
The trucks from the 5900 series stocars were used only on the 6400 and 6600 series flatcars.
