Our archive has 4 large cabinet photos 13"x16" for the cabinet cards, 9.5"x11" for the actual photos, which were taken by C.R.Savage of Salt Lake City. This is scanned from a gray scale photographic copy print of the actual sepia photo. I understand Savage was contracted to take photos for the railroad. One of the photos is a passenger consist that was probably just ahead of the log train. It appears to have some of the same people. A third image shows what I presume is the same group at the Devil's Gate / Red Bridge which is in the same area. The fourth photo is of the Oregon Lumber Company mill at South Baker. Likely Savage was on the passenger consist. Perhaps he had his dark room set up in the baggage car. I have posted scans of the actual cabinet photos and participated in quite a bit of discussion about them on the Facebook group Pacific Narrow Gauge. Per Andrew Brandon, the photographer Savage was also contracted to take photos in the early days of the D&RG.
