We worked on the Rico water tank a few years ago, putting a new roof on it and other repairs. We had to whack our way through willows, fight small trees, and try to figure out the layout of the yard. The remains of the engine house foundations were still there, but most everything else was gone or so changed as to be hard to tell what it was. Rico itself was pretty bad off. We did phase one of the restoration of the town hall and work on several mine headframes, but as a bedroom community of Telluride, it had not fared well. These pictures have been amazing.
