What would the crew have to do before abandoning the engine? I image that if they just walked away the water in the tender tank and boiler would freeze solid.
What steps would they have to take to prevent ice from damaging the locomotive? And after they return and dig the engine out would they
tow it all the way back to Chama or just fire it up there? I thank you for your answers.
