I lugged my Mamiya RB-67 around for more than two decades, starting when I chased and worked on the American Freedom Train for more than five months in 1975-76. Nice to have more than four times the film area of a 35 mm, which allowed all sorts of leeway to crop your shots — sorta like having zoom film instead of a heavy zoom lens. SFAIK, its only in the last few years that digital SLRs have provided that much resolution in a "simple", relatively easy-to-carry package.
