Notorious nit-picky Curmudgeon that I am, Olaf -
It behooves me to point out that the photo you posted above was taken from the EAST side of Lobato Trestle (per the railroad's timetable), or the North side if you stick more closely to the geography of the area. Here's a well-known shot taken by Tom Gildersleeve from the same side about five years earlier

SFAIK, the last "legal" shots from that side of the trestle were taken during the eastbound leg of the two-day excursion with D&RG #425 (masquerading as D&RGW #315) on September 14, 2009. See [
ngdiscussion.net] for a photo thereof, and follow the link on that page for a couple more of Roosso's shots. (IIRC, the RR had arranged with Rancho Oso to have a run-by there that day on condition that all of the participants sign "hold harmless" waivers in case of any problems, but these had not been passed along to the property's management. In any event, SFAIK, the only time since then that the RR has had access to area around the trestle was during the repairs following the fire in June of 2010.)
- Sincerely,
Willie (Wm. Claude Johnson-Barr III, Esq.)
