At some time in the past the front frame extension was broken on 168. The Rio Grande welded it back together. The pilot was extended on the locomotive as well so a flanger could be installed. With the long overhang and the weld repair of the frame we decided not to allow the 315/425 to be coupled in front of the lighter 168.
