I started the last thread on that, and I'm not sure there was a clear answer from management. It does seem it was common practice to have the helper (a consolidation) ahead of the tenwheeler back in the day.

Obviously, the rule changed when much larger engines came on the scene.

Either way, it was great to see photos of the two of them together.
