Remember that the Glenbrook's original restoration crew had ordered a new welded boiler for her. That boiler is now going on another rescued Hollywood locomotive, NCNG #5 (ex Carson and Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company "Tahoe", Glenbrook's sister). The welded boiler was ordered with incorrect dimensions. The original welded boiler's front courses were too wasted to use and so new barrels were rolled. Code construction for rivetted boilers does not require ASME certified welders so the museum staff could do the hot riveting. The new construction longitudinal seams look like this:
