Thank you so very nuch for your excellent response. I did not know that Cartagena had a rail link. I knew that Barranquella did (since I am planning at furthering my spanish language training at their Univ. del Norte)and I was hoping that there was interesting facilities there. I understand there is extensive coal mining there too. The Bogata system sounds great. I will certainly get down there this summer and do some photography. I'm surprised that Trains Unlimited has not offered tours there as yet.
