Dave Rob the photos you are showing are modernized mail postal cars used in the San Juan and Shavano. They were rebuilt in 1936/37 and had steam heat signals and electric lights car numbers were 54; 60; 64; 65; 66; 119;and 122. The postal office could be entered by the side doors only. As to 62 & 63 they were older cars for use on the Santa Fe line. These cars were identical to cars 50 53 61 62 and 63.and as far as I know none of these had rail bracing on the postal end of the car. The post office was entered by side doors only.
The down side of all this is the car used in the C&TS history train is the wrong car and one of the other cars would be better but without roof walks and hand rails. but I cant have every thing..
