Ft Knox is the nickname of one of the original buildings in the Antonito yard across the driveway from the engine house. It was painted bright gold, hence it's name. Constructed of cinder blocks, one story I heard was it was part of the saw mill originally on the site. The work space is leased from the Commission, and has become a very nice work area for the Friends.
