After watching the team rebuild these motor cars in the Chama yards for 2 years, it is great to see them on the rails. Last summer in 2003 at the end of the June Session D work session the crew was making the finishing touches on the cars.
On the Saturday after the work session my Wife and I were leaving to return home. We went down to the Chama yards for one last look at my project and what else had been finished. The speeder crew was still finishing work on the speeders. The little Rodgers Loco had been painted black and the speedercrew was putting the speeders in the sheds. Also the speeder crew had tents and equipment that rivaled a Nascar pit crews down by the watertank.
Great shot and hope the ROW project is a a success. Any clearing will be a great protection for the railroad. If the crew that works on the clearing of the ROW is like the speeder crew, then the project will be completed.
All the news that seems to be coming out of Chama and Antonito is good progress on all fronts.
Gentleman and ladies start your speeders.......
