I can post a clip of 497 and 487 on a Cumbres turn in 1967 and it does sound very different than 493 and sounds like what we know on the D&S and C&TS. I don't think that we should be surprised that there are variations in how each locomotive sounds. 476 and 478 do not sound identical to 473. I also find that 491 sounds a lot like 493. Just my 2 cents here.
