When I say "serious charter", I mean picking a consist that's historically accurate (or as close as we can reasonably get), putting loads on flat cars, lettering the equipment for the Rio Grande, and running a schedule that puts the train at key locations at appropriate times for the best lighting, even paying for two crews if that's what it takes to get great light. It also means keeping the attendance to a reasonable number, to ensure that the group will fit in the best locations, and that everyone gets good shots. That's not to denigrate trips that don't do all of those things. It's all a matter of which product you prefer, that's all.
