On my last charter at the DSNGRR, we ran with cloth flags. This was the 2016 Willow Creek Productions Charter with 473. I don't know if there have been any serious charters like this since. At the time, it sure didn't seem as if the RR wanted to do these kinds of trips.
The photos that trip produced were the best I have ever gotten on that line. The gentleman who ran it seemed to have incredible luck with weather. Every time I rode one of his excursions, we had wall-to-wall sun both days.
