A number of years ago I got a tour of the Hull-Oakes sawmill. They were noted as the last steam powered sawmill in the country. On our tour we saw beams that were 44" square by 80 feet long. They shipped a lot of the big timbers to Canada. I understand they are no longer using steam but it would still be worth a tour, which used to be free to the public.
