Reminds me of two similar experiences. As a kid in the 1960's my Dad would sometimes stop at the corner drug store in Alamosa. The store was located at either Main and San Juan or State Avenue (can't recall). On the walls were various large pictures of the D&RGW narrow gauge. Each trip through Alamosa meant I had to check out the store and those photos on the wall. As a young adult I once stopped in to see if the photos could be purchased, but the person there said they were not for sale. I believe the store closed for good soon after. Another experience is my wife and I frequently visited Guiseppe's Restaurant in the Colorado Springs Depot (also no longer in business). Most of the time we were seated adjacent to the tracks next to the depot and watched freights roll by, but one time we had to sit in the larger rear dining room. There on the walls were very large framed B&W prints of various D&RGW narrow gauge scenes. We sat below a large print of a head on view of a K-28 (473 or 476, don't recall). Nice memories.
