One absolutely great thing and professional aspect about the restoration of 470 is the written of imaged documentation by the FOCATSR, Colorado Springs done though the blog of "Duncan".
On a posting of the day 11/21/09 there is a caption of
"After more panelling has been removed, we can see the construction of the wall between the windows. The cross-pieces were held in place by moulding which was glued in place, but the pieces are free-floating now. Craig removed six of the vertical pieces between the windows, and discovered the NUMBER 470 written on three of them. So, apparently the mystery of the original number of the car that we have been calling "0252" has been solved. This would indicate that this car is the last of the series that was built. Hopefully, we will find more documentation as we go forward".
Ironicly with that is a image which seems to indicate a sample of the brown Pullman Color with paint " run" of the overlaying and I green or perhaps the what looks like faded green is just a dust accumulation "runed" by moisture seeping underneath the sheathing. Being that this the inside of the factory T&G sheathing and was not obscured by the prep for the C&NW retrofit green paint finish job.
Unfortunately, digital images can also be deceving compared to observing the sample in real life and analysis.
