That's a bit ambitious, Greg -
Considering they'll only be in the area for a week or so; Durango is a full day's drive each way from Denver and roads can be iffy this time of year. OTOH, CRRM and the Loop-de-Loop are each an easy day-trip out of Denver, and they could do both in one day if pressed for time and don't spend a real long time at the museum. But if they have some extra time Como is possible with an early morning start and a picnic lunch (IIRC, no cafés there unless things have changed recently). Denver Union Station is worth a visit in its own right - quite the lively place when I was there a couple of years ago.
