Thank you gentlemen for the info so far. Unfortunately the timing of their arrival in the area and departure for home and the dates they will be there, seem to not allow them to enjoy the area via the rails. IIRC, they will be there from May 11, through May 14. Not sure if they’re heading for home on the 14th or 15th. Greg, among my first thoughts were the D&S and CRRM. When I discovered the trip to Durango was 5+ hours, I kinda figured that wasn’t going to fly. Thanks for the idea though. As Russo and others mentioned CRRM is a real possibility. Just a shame that steam won’t be up and running. She thought #20 was really cute. I just verified they will be in the area yet on Friday, so the GLR would give them a chance to ride which would probably be of more interest to her companions than static options.

Also, as I mentioned before it sounds like they plan to do a little hiking. Are there recommendations on how to prepare themselves or what they should carry for safety and food? They bought a first aid kit to keep with them but is there anything they should make sure to have with the wildlife or plants in the area?
