I found your comments valuable, Dan, and your experiences are certainly congruent with my own. The most I could add is some background on their more baffling decisions (like: "Cold Mountain" was actually shot in Romania, partly because the Transylvanian Mountains are less developed than the modern-day Appalachians. Though mostly because it was cheaper). Trucking "Eureka" 2,300 miles for a one-off shot sounds a lot like someone wasn't thinking things through, though.
