Actually, Ian -
Progress pre-dates Weed City by about three years, having been built in September, 1968 for the movie
'The Good Guys and the Bad Guys' (for which #483 received the notorious "Scarlet Harlot" makeup discussed recently on Dan Markoff's "Movie Making" thread). Here's the depot at Progress as photographed by Ernie Robart on 09/29/68 — exactly one month after the D&RGW ran its very last eastbound freight over Cumbres Pass

IIRC there was a water tank built at that time as well, though perhaps not until Progress became Weed City in 1971.* This tank was later rebuilt and/or modified for subsequent films.

* IMHO these are great names considering that New Mexico has finally made some Progress in legalizing Weed (though probably to the detriment of narco-tourism in southern Colorado)
