I sure appreciate your videos. Fifty years ago when I was a student at Western State in Gunnison I made multiple attempts to reach the Tunnel in winter. Tried snowshoes and cross country skis. Cross country skis are way better than snowshoes! When we would reach Midway Tank it was time to take an extended break. From first hand experience skis won't glide down a four percent grade without the aid of continue poling. Finally did reach the Tunnel Station in April of 1972 aided by a snowmobile which left a frozen packed track that could be walked on from Quartz to Tunnel Gulch. We always took a short cut between Tunnel Gulch and Woodstock climbing the rocks here to the upper grade.
