I mis-remembered (happens more and more often these days) that Kennedy had a bit part as the really nasty bad guy who got his comeuppance from James Coburn, but he was probably already too big a star by 1960 or thereabouts to have taken the role. OTOH, it was definitely NOT Brad Dexter, who was actually one of the Seven good guys – a gunfighter who had lost his nerve – best remembered for the scene where he grabs at a few flies hovering on the bar table in front of him, and catches only one.
"Time was, I'd have gotten all three . . . " he muses wistfully. No, wait — that was Robert Vaughn. Dexter's character had an even smaller role
; IMHO he was there only because they needed a seventh good guy to fill the 'lucky number' total of the title.
