Probably a regular rider of the train.
Reminds me of a story an uncle told. After graduating from the Lutheran church seminary in St Louis about 1930 he was assigned as an assistant pastor in Pueblo, Colorado. Maybe a couple times a month he had to travel to Salida to conduct services at a mission church. So the method of travel was via one of the passenger trains that stopped a few minutes at the Hanging Bridge.
On the first trip he disembarked like the other through passengers. The second trip resulted with a reluctant getting off the train. Third or fourth trip and later, like the locals, he stayed on the train waiting for it to get going.
