Two different cars carried the name Alamosa, and 3 were called Durango, all at different times. Other names used included Ouray (former Buffet-Sleeper Salt Lake, wrecked 1901, rblt to parlor 1902), Pagosa, Silverton, and Camp Bird. Also Chair car 401 was rebuilt as a parlor but never had it's designation changed or the honor of a name.
In 1936-37 several of the remaining cars were upgraded, including Chair 403 which up to that point had the same type of mixed-up status as 401, resulting in:
Chama(ex-Camp Bird, orig Chair 410 nee 32),
Gunnison(ex-2nd Durango 1910, orig Emigrant Sleeper 455 nee 106),
Salida (ex-Silverton, Chair 406 nee 28),
2nd Alamosa (ex-Chair 403 nee 25)
3rd Durango (ex-Pagosa orig Chair 409 nee 31),
plus 401.
Ouray was scrapped at about this time(1938).
In 1942 Salida, Gunnison and 401 were sold to NdeM. The others remained in service until the end of regularly scheduled narrow gauge 1st class (passenger) trains in 1951 when Durango & Chama were sold to Knott's.
Alamosa was rebuilt to a coach in in 1957 which was the end for parlor/chair cars on the D&RG(W) narrow gauge.
All clear?
