Aha, I’m on an iPad and don’t have a mouse! Using two fingers to enlarge the photos loses the resolution, so will have to try your way next time I’m on my PC.
And BTW, first time I saw the 218 on the table photo was 1963 when I got Beebe/Clegg’s “Narrow Gauge in the Rockies”. It’s credited to “Western Collection: V.G. Jackson” who they specifically note is a different photographer from the more famous W.H. Jackson. The “Western Collection” part is the DPL.

PS. Dave says #711 was built in 1898, which means the narrow gauge engines were more than 15 years old (and creeping up on 20) by that time. You’d hardly notice because they’re so immaculately kept.
