Folks who are considering the purchase of a Nikon Z-series FF camera should know that an adapter is available to enable use of the F-mount lenses (E-series, G-series), so if you already own one or more Nikon DSLRs and already have a bag of E or G glass, you don't need to go out and re-buy all of your lenses in the Z-series. Doing so is a personal decision, and it looks as if Jerry likes going that route.
I have the FTZ adapter and I regularly use my G glass with the Z6 with excellent results. I see no issues with AF speed or image quality. I also own one Z-series lens and those are great glass as well.
The nice thing about the FTZ adapter is that I can bring my Z6 along as a 2nd or 3rd body when I am traveling, and it can use any of the lenses I use with my D750, D850 or D4. Unfortunately, the Z-series lenses are not usable on a DSLR, which is why I have not purchased any more of them. I still see uses for a DSLR, at least for now. There are some types of shots for which the DSLR is better. The main issue that still exists with the mirrorless is that the EVF, while excellent, is still not quite real-time. If you are shooting something that is extremely time-critical (wedding first kiss, etc.), the only way you can guarantee the frame you want with a Z is to burst. Trying to single-finger "the moment" is difficult with an EVF because of the lag. All of that said, I really like my Z6. 12 fps and awesome low-light quality. If I needed another body today (and I don't), I would buy a Z6 II.
