From the photos we have, the standard gauge locomotive(s) (I believe there were two, T-18s No. 514 and 521) were partially disassembled and then loaded on flats, where they'd be reassembled in Durango. See: [ngtrainpics.photoshelter.com]

Not sure about where the locomotives or the other equipment went when the line was converted back to narrow gauge.
