You are right ,such a reinforcement would have more to do with a defective hub than spokes . You are also right about the welding ,as the C&TS welded or brazed broken spokes back together with some frequency . I thought the Feds frowned upon on more than a certain number of spokes broken ,but do not remember the specifics now .
