This is the photograph of 63 I found on Mr. E. R. Crain’s DSP&PRR website. From what I can see, the cab appears to be not the same color as the rest of the engine. Lighting may have a hand in affecting the color the camera saw, but I want to know another opinion on this.
As to the veracity of the photo, the painting matches the builder’s photograph of number 63. However, two details stick out to me as this possibly being a model and not the genuine engine:
1) The lettering on the tender “D., S. P. & P. R. R.” seems a bit off-kilter compared to the tender frame, but otherwise looks fine, and
2) The two men near the pilot of the engine seen oddly featureless, almost like plastic models?
