We had been evacuated from the Cameron Peak fire and just got back in our house Thursday. Over the last several years I've done a lot of mitigation, cutting back brush to 30 yards or so from the house. I'd also started to put gravel around the house to possibly stop the fire from getting close. But nothing will stop a firestorm like they had earlier in the week.in Grand Lake.
The Fire Incident Command has been very good at communicating the current status of the fire activities on Facebook. With Cameron Peak seeing more containment, the same organization dealing with that has taken on the East Troublesome Fire east of the continental divide. I just watched the video at [
www.facebook.com] and you can get an idea of what they are dealing with and how they are using their resources. With the information available direct from them, don't waste your time watching regular TV news.
Blame the Beatle! You can see how badly the forests were damaged by them here: [

Pray for Rain and Snow. Lots of it.
