There is a precedent for Geese hauling trains. The County Donegal Railways ran a fleet of assorted 3'gauge railcars and these often hauled a 4 wheel wagon for baggage and/or a coach/trailer for extra passenger capacity.
This was also the case on the West Clare section of the CIE in Eire which was totally dieselised but only lasted until 1961 - the Donegal had closed at the end of 1959.
