I drove this route for my first time at the beginning of this month (August). We were on our way home and Dylan from the C&TS recommended it to us. And, TBH, I forgot or didn't know it existed really....
Very nice and easy drive for the most part. Good climbs through the trees and on hill sides in different parts. The Horseshoe Curve at the East end was really neat too. My brother noted to me while at the top, There is very little flat area for yards. A train back then may be level when stopped, but longer trains of the latter years would have been on the grade no matter what...
Neat drive and worth it. Depending on how much you like to "explore" it doesnt take a lot of time to do....
