The Rotarys were based in Chama and Alamosa.
They were kept ready to fire, but not hot unless needed. Water, of course, was drained from the tank and boilers, to avoid being frozen.
In Chama, the Rotary outfit was kept in the North End of the Yard, in Alamosa, the Rotary was probably kept near the Roundhouse.
Jerry Day would be a good source of information on this subject. You can find his address if you search for some of his posts over the last year.
Let me know if you want me to forward a request for information.
